A painting shaped by community responses
Prior to the live painting session, I gathered input from the community through an online survey asking about their favorite things about Pike Place Market. These responses helped inform the final design.

Pike Place Ecology
The final piece, titled Pike Place Ecology, highlights the Market’s historic keystones, including the “Save the Market” movement, Japanese American farmers, and its legacy of public art and civic engagement. It also celebrates the everyday experiences of Pike Place today - from small businesses, food, produce, and flowers to the atmosphere that makes it a gathering place for friends, families, and visitors. Together, these elements reflect the Market as a living ecosystem of history, culture, and community.
