Mural concept

Blue Refuge

Kelp forests are often called "blue carbon sinks" because kelp absorbs CO₂ from the ocean and converts it into biomass, helping store carbon and support healthy marine ecosystems.

For this design, I surrounded the doorway with ornamental carbon molecules to represent this process of transformation and renewal. I also included sea otters, who rely on kelp forests for shelter and often wrap themselves in kelp while they rest to keep from drifting away.

A doorway mural concept inspired by the sea

One of my favorite parts of creating mural concepts is finding ways to weave together education, storytelling, and design into a piece that sparks curiosity and connection. If you have an idea for a mural and need someone to bring it to life, let's chat!
